★☆☆☆☆ 1.0 Service / maintenance September 2026

— Tahlia Colbert

I brought my 2022 MG ZST to MG Mile End because I have been experiencing ongoing Apple CarPlay issues since I purchased the car. CarPlay repeatedly disconnects, sometimes fails to connect at all, and can disconnect almost immediately after connecting. The issue can also occur when driving over bumps. On my initial visit, I was told by service advisor Luke Nelson that there was no fault because CarPlay happened to connect while they had the car. I explained that the issue is intermittent and that it can appear to work temporarily before disconnecting again. I was then booked in for a more thorough inspection. The dealership had my car for an entire week. The booking confirmation stated "parts replacement," so I reasonably assumed they would be investigating and replacing a component responsible for the issue. However, when I collected the car, I was told there was once again "no issue." I was advised that the only thing that had been done was taking the car for a drive a few times during the week. No part was replaced, despite the booking confirmation referring to parts replacement. What made this even more frustrating was that, a few days before I collected the vehicle, I spoke with Poppy on the phone and was told that they were waiting for parts to arrive. When I later spoke with Luke, I was told that no parts had been ordered. I was also repeatedly told to use a genuine Apple cable. I have been using a genuine Apple cable throughout, so this does not resolve the underlying problem. To add to the frustration, my car was driven multiple times during the week and the petrol used was not replaced. My biggest issue is not simply that the CarPlay problem remains unresolved — it is the way the situation was handled. I felt dismissed rather than listened to, particularly when I repeatedly explained that this is an intermittent fault. My interactions with Luke were extremely disappointing, and I found his manner unhelpful and uninterested in resolving the issue. I left feeling as though I was being made to question whether there was actually a problem with my car, despite having experienced the same fault repeatedly since purchasing it. As a female customer, I found the experience particularly frustrating and felt that my concerns were not taken seriously. I would expect a dealership to properly investigate an ongoing intermittent fault, clearly explain what was actually tested, and communicate honestly about whether parts had been ordered or replaced. At this stage, I am extremely disappointed with MG Mile End and would not recommend the service department based on my experience.
