Absolutely terrible experience with Caloundra Mazda. We took our nearly new BT-50, with only approximately 6,000 km on the clock, to Caloundra Mazda for a warranty claim relating to a faulty LED screen on the dashboard. Unfortunately, Caloundra Mazda refused to repair the issue under warranty, despite this apparently being a reasonably common fault discussed by owners online. We felt we were being fobbed off by David, the Service Manager, who initially tried to blame the vehicle’s aftermarket rustproofing and then told us we would need to take the vehicle back to the dealership where we purchased it after insisting we paid $600 before returning our keys! After contacting Mazda Australia and lodging an official complaint, we were advised that any authorised Mazda dealership can carry out warranty and servicing work. Rather than return to Caloundra Mazda, we took the vehicle back to the dealership where we originally purchased it. They handled the issue professionally and courteously, and the faulty screen was repaired completely under warranty without any problems. Very disappointing experience with Caloundra Mazda. The contrast between the two dealerships was enormous, and based on our experience, we certainly won’t be returning to Caloundra Mazda.
